Costa Tovarnisky as LUKASActor, mime, clown: Costa was born in the Ukraine but is of Romanian origin. After graduating from the Academy of Arts Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, he set out to pursue a career in the arts, always looking for perfection and a new way of expression. Costa performed and taught in The State Circus of Chisinau in Republic of Moldova, at the National Theatre of Timisoara in Romania and Pygmalion Theatre of Vienna, Austria. He has had the opportunity to perform in many different languages (Romanian, Russian, German, Hungarian) in several European countries. In 2004 he settled in Montreal and one year later began working with Cirque du Soleil. His passion for Commedia dell’Arte secured him roles at L’Utopie Theatre where he first performed in French on the Montreal stage as Sosie of Ruzzante in Parlerie Des Mercenaires. He returned to L’Utopie Theatre in the role of Basque in Molière En Hiver. One Night in Berlin is his English-language debut. Polyglot by the forces of destiny, he speaks Romanian, Russian, Ukrainian, English and French. Costa finds his strength in the theatrical language and hopes to enrich his creations through it.
